The half-life of Tc-99m is 6.01 hours, which is an appropriate time to acquire medical information. As it is not such long for the patient to receive unnecessary radiation. Also, as gamma rays emitted from Tc-99m have enough energy (140Kev) to penetrate the tissue, it is appropriate to be used for diagnostic purposes.
